Radio Observations during the Time of the Possible Ursid Meteor
Shower Outburst
December 22, 2007
For Meteor Researchers:
Here are my raw forward scatter radio charts from 19:00:00 UT through 23:59:59
UT.
My location is north central New Mexico, USA. 35.50 North Lat. 105.89
West Long.
Charts below are in UT. My local time is -7 UT. (1900 UT is
12 pm noon local Mountain Standard Time.)
My present radio meteor work is oriented toward fireball studies rather
than individual meteor counting and I am logging
video camera fireballs in conjunction with my radio meteor array. Hence,
I do not count individual meteors or dust particles.
All activity on the charts below is from meteor, dust and fireball. I cannot
tell what is a possible Ursid in the full mix.
I am charting two separate ICOM PCR 1000 radios using Spectrum Lab V2.7
b18.
The top half of the chart above the white line is 61.250 MHz ( tv channel
3 video carrier wave)
and the bottom half of the chart is 83.250 MHz ( tv channel 6 video carrier
wave.)
