Unidentified Static Question

May 03, 2020

QUESTION:

Today I am seeing and hearing some sort of bursty "static" on my decametric radio telescope and wonder what is generating it? Above is a sample radio spectrogram covering from 30 MHz down to 15 MHz, and a short sound file. Below is a radar map of far distant storms at the time of the spectrogram. I am wondering if the lightning storms are too far away from my observatory at the time of this recording and spectrogram to create these distinct and prominent bursts? Maybe there is another cause of this particular form of static?

Any ideas as to what is generating this burst phenomena are welcome and I thank you in advance. -
