On several occaisions during Io-B storms I have heard an interesting burst phenomenon which to me makes a sort of "whipping sound".
This sound can be heard at the 3.5 second to 4.2 second interval in the sound file on the chart above. I had thought that this burst was an L-burst but upon passing the specimen through the spectrograph it appears to be a cluster of bursts. ? I have blown the image up in the detail below.
