February 17, 2007             Jovian Io-B  S-bursts received at 1217 UT  in stereo using two separate radios and antennas.

Above is a spectrograph excerpt of the stereo sound file below.
The left side shows reception of S-bursts received at 21.1 MHz with a three element yagi antenna.  ( Hy-Gain TH-3JRS)
The right side was received simultaneously at 21.3 MHz with a single half wave dipole.  ( Home-made)

The radios for each stereo channel were unmodified Sangean ATS-803 radios. They were
audio recorded from their headphone jacks into a Panasonic stereo VCR used as an audio recorder.

I was not intending a calibrated and scientific test when I was recording the storm. Rather, I record jovian emissions like these for my own purposes.
So this is just a casual and semi-quantitative comparison of bursting received in the wild but perhaps it gives a general picture of the difference in
sensitivities between antennas.
